The Student Services Department offers resources, support and information to enhance a student's experience at the Castro Valley Unified School District. We are concerned for the well-being and attendance of the students within CVUSD. Our department can assist families in connecting with school and community resources to address issues which may be affecting your students' attendance.
The Student Services Department provides support in the following areas:
- Enrollment, Residency, Inter District Transfers and Intra District Transfers
- School Attendance and Truancy
- School Attendance Review Board (SARB)
- Drug, Alcohol, and Tobacco Programs
- Services for Students Experiencing Homelessness or in Foster Care

Comprehensive School Safety Plans
The Castro Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) recognizes that students and staff have the right to a safe and secure campus where they are free from physical and psychological harm. CVUSD is fully committed to maximizing school safety and to creating a positive learning environment that includes strategies for violence prevention and high expectations for student conduct, responsible behavior, and respect for others.
In accordance with state law, each CVUSD school has developed a comprehensive school safety plan relevant to the needs and resources of that particular school. The plans are reviewed and annually updated, the latest plan for each school can be viewed by clicking this link.
