Health Services (and Health Related Forms)

The Castro Valley Unified School District Health Services Department is responsible for the wellness needs of the students in the district. We have four district RNs in three full time positions who are also Credentialed School Nurses to cover our student population across 15 schools. Our school nurses are uniquely qualified in the preventative health, health assessment, and referral procedures for students and families within the school setting. They are in the position to strengthen and facilitate the educational process, improve and protect the health status of children through management of both chronic and acute medical conditions.

In addition to our nurses, our Health Services department is also supported by:

  • An itinerant Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) who provides direct support to students at various sites as needed.
  • Elementary secretaries
  • Health Office Clerks at Canyon Middle School and Creekside Middle School
  • A Health Service Technician at Castro Valley High School
  • Medical Paraprofessionals

Parents can help in the success of their children during the school day by communicating with the school regarding  any health related barriers which may affect their child’s ability to learn.
