Dear Castro Valley Unified School District Community:

As you may have just read, our Superintendent Parvin Ahmadi will be retiring in June. We want to express our deepest gratitude to Superintendent Ahmadi. In her decade of service at Castro Valley Unified School District, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to our students, staff, and community.

When Superintendent Ahmadi joined us in 2015, our community was on the cusp of change and needed the type of leadership to guide us to a more diverse and equitable Castro Valley. For the past 10 years, she has guided our district with vision, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to student success, community engagement, and fostered a high performing district sought after by families and employees alike. Her leadership strengthened our schools, expanded opportunities for students, and fostered a culture of excellence and inclusion. She is a leader and recognized among her peers in the State of California, often providing valuable advice to leaders in Sacramento and beyond.

We take our commitment as trustees of CVUSD  seriously. Our main roles are to set policy, manage resources, and select and work with the Superintendent to ensure the success of our district. As we look to the future, the Board will select a new superintendent who will uphold the values and priorities outlined in our district’s Strategic Directions.

We are profoundly grateful for Superintendent Ahmadi’s service and the lasting impact of her service to our community. We wish her the very best in her well-earned retirement. Thank you for your continued partnership in making Castro Valley Unified a place where every student can thrive.

This is a significant decision. We will be thoughtful in engaging with our community stakeholders to ensure we find a leader who shares our commitment to academic excellence, equity, as well as student and staff well-being. We will share updates as we progress through the process. Currently we are initiating a process to work with an outside consultant that specialises in Superintendent searches. To be transparent to all of our stakeholders in the community, we are embarking on a significant personnel action. As such, we will not be sharing specific information about any candidate until we announce our new Superintendent.

We are profoundly grateful for Superintendent Ahmadi’s service and the lasting impact of her service to our community. We wish her the very best in her well-earned retirement.

Thank you for your continued partnership in making Castro Valley Unified a place where every student can thrive.

Sincerely,

Dolly Adams
CVUSD Board President
On behalf of the Castro Valley Unified School District Board of Education
