Castro Valley Unified School District strives to provide comprehensive services to support student learning. This includes providing a rigorous curriculum, instruction, and support to both students and staff to meet the requirements of the California State Standards for Literacy and Mathematics (Common Core), as well as the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Through the Educational Services department, the district supports program development, curriculum and materials adoption, and implementation in the areas of English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, History-Social Science, the Arts, Physical Education, World Languages, Career Technical Education (CTE), and English Language Development (ELD). Our educational programs offer a comprehensive and balanced curriculum and provide both enrichment and support to meet the needs of a diverse student population.

To communicate the educational programs at the secondary schools, each school develops and annually updates their Program Planning Guide (PPG) to reflect educational programs, practices, and procedures. The PPG is a valuable resource for students and parents. It is posted on the school website and print copies are available upon request at each school.

TVTIP is a consortium of school districts which include Castro Valley, Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton and Sunol. The Consortium collaborates with the New Teacher Center and local universities. TVTIP provides support to eligible, participating teachers as they begin their professional career. The Consortium’s goal is to provide opportunities for teachers to become highly qualified and effective practitioners. Visit the TVTIP website link here.
