NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Education of the Castro Valley Unified School District, at its Regular Board Meeting to be held on September 23, 2026 will hold a public hearing pursuant to, Education Code 60119 and 5 CCR 9531 regarding the sufficiency of instructional materials and determine through a resolution whether each student has sufficient textbooks and instructional materials.

Notice is hereby given that, on May 20, 2026, the Board of Education of Castro Valley Unified School District (“Board”) adopted Resolution No. 54 - 25/26  titled “Resolution of the Board of Education of the Castro Valley Unified School District Declaring its Intention to Convey an Easement to Pacific Gas and Electric Company to Allow Access for Installation and Maintenance of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations at Canyon Middle School” (“Resolution”), a copy of which is available on request and incorporated herein by reference.  The Board intends to consider conveyance of an easement to a portion of District property (the “Easement”), known as Canyon Middle School located at 19600 Cull Canyon Road, Castro Valley, CA 94552, designated as APN  085-1520-002-11.

In accordance with Education Code section 17556 et seq., a public hearing on conveying the Easement will be held at the Board Meeting on June 10, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the District Boardroom, 4400 Alma Avenue, Castro Valley, CA 94546.

Proposed 2026-2027 Preliminary Budget and the 

Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Education of the Castro Valley Unified School District, at its regularly scheduled board meeting on June 10, 2026, will hold a public hearing on the Proposed 2026-2027 Preliminary Budget and the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), in accordance with the provisions of Education Code Section 42103.  Public Inspection of the Preliminary Budget will be available 72 hours before the public hearing on the district’s website

Fourteen Day Notice of Proposal to Implement Developer Fees

A public hearing will be held by the Governing Board of the Castro Valley Unified School District at its regular meeting of March 11, 2026, in which the Board will consider a resolution implementing school facilities fees in accordance with Education Code Section 17620. The meeting will be held at 6:00p.m. in the Board Room of the district offices, located at 4400 Alma Ave,  Castro Valley,  California. Regarding Accounting of Development Fees for 2024-2025 Fiscal Year In The Following Fund Or Account: Capital Facilities Fund 25

Senate Bill 1693 became effective on January 1, 1997, amended Sections 66001 and 66006 of the Government Code, and added Section 66008 to the Government Code.  These changes to existing law require that a school district make the following specific information available to the public within 180 days of the end of the fiscal year:

1. A brief description of the type of fee in the separate fund.
2. The amount of the fee.
3. The beginning and ending balance in the fund.
4. The amount of fees collected and the interest earned in the fund.
5. An identification of each public improvement on which fees were expended and the amount of the expenditures on each improvement funded with fees.
6. An identification of an approximate date by which the construction of the public improvement will commence if the local agency determines that sufficient funds have been collected to complete financing on an incomplete public improvement.
7. A description of each interfund transfer or loan made from the account or fund, including the public improvement on which the transferred or loaned fees will be expended; and in the case of an interfund loan, the date on which the loan will be repaid and the rate of interest that the account or fund will receive on the loan.
8. The amount of refunds made pursuant to subdivision (e) of section 66001 and any allocations pursuant to subdivision (f) of section 66001.
